The mayor, who is in his fourth term of office, is unable to run for mayor again due to term limits.

With the rapid growth and increasing popularity of Newport as an entertainment area, it appears that Guidugli is wanting to keep track of the growth that he oversaw as mayor of Newport.

Mayor Guidugli was unable to be reached for comment.
