Florence Freedom Baseball Club Seeks Singers
The Florence Freedom are looking for their 2008 anthem singers at the 2nd annual “Freedom Star” auditions at Champion Window Field. The tryouts are open to the public and will be from 12:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 5th.“We found some really great singers at last season’s auditions,” mentioned Freedom Director of Fun Kevin Schwab. “It is great to have people come out and perform for us.”Contestants will be called down to the dugout top to perform a brief rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner”, “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”, or “God Bless America” in front of our panel of judges. The judges will choose several “winners” to be National Anthem singers for the 2008 Florence Freedom season.
Freedom Star hopefuls should be prepared to sing a capella and from memory. Contestants are also asked to bring a list of home games at which they are available to perform. Each contestant will receive two tickets to one of the Freedom’s exhibition games just for auditioning.
The Freedom are encouraging not only individuals, but choruses, choirs, and ensembles to participate!
